What a life....

Was watching this discovery channel programme... something about volcanic erruptions, more specifically a fictional show on what will happen if Yellowstone errupted. Apparently, the ash ejected would be so great that we won't be able to breathe etc. Yellowstone is huge, has a vast depression, and erupts prob hundreds of thousands years apart... (did u know the last time it errupted was 630oooyears ago?)
Hmm... before i carry on, Sumatra had two encounters with earthquake today... tremors were so bad that it was felt in singapore. Last i know, about 70 people died. Of course, let's not forget the Tsunami, SARS etc etc etc...
As if nature was not scary enough, people are fighting against each other.. from as minor as bad-mouthing to something as radical as terrorism...
Point is... life is very unpredictable... Even with all the equipment science has managed to build to defend us, the same tools can be used against us. There's no way we can stop any of these disasters... and just as mysteriously as how it starts... it stops likewise.... In times like these, God seems to be the best answer one can offer to another... But ironically it could be related to the worst question one can ask... "Why God Why?"
I guess, the best answer is.... These are gifts... lives, friends, nature, relationships, family etc.... The life i lead, the people who love me, the people i love, the things i have are all on loan from God. What right does a borrower have in stating his/her rules? None... But from another angle... what rights has been given in stating these demands? That itself again is a gift...
Can i really prepare myself for the last day i live? I don't know.. i just pray i won't make the wrong choice..
